Automox Announces Day Zero Support for macOS Sequoia

Apple Releases a New Major Version of its mac Operating System

Fall is in the air, and that means another new mac operating system is now available from Apple. macOS Sequoia is the 21st and latest version of Apple’s computer operating systems, and perhaps one of the more anticipated with the upcoming beta availability of Apple Intelligence coming to Sequoia later this fall.

There’s no doubt end users are excited about Sequoia’s release. After all, it means there will be a heap of new features, and your team’s bound to experience significant productivity gains with better window tiling, presenter previews, a new password app, and the much-anticipated beta availability of Apple Intelligence.

But should admins be worried about managing and securing macOS Sequoia without interruptions? Nope. Automox has your back.

Day Zero Support for Sequoia

With Automox, administrators can rest assured they’ll have help running and securing macOS Sequoia without interruptions – and that starts today.

You’re sure to get the same simple, automated, third-party software deployment and patching solution you’re used to on Apple devices whether they’re Intel or Silicon.

On top of that, you’ll retain the configuration management confidence you’re used to – across your enterprise – with Apple’s newest OS release, macOS Sequoia (15.0).

What is macOS Sequoia?

Sequoia is Apple’s successor to Sonoma. It’s the 21st major release of macOS, Apple’s desktop operating system.

It became generally available on Monday, September 16, 2024.

Why are Sequoia’s Features so Exciting?

We’re particularly thrilled about Sequoia’s new feature offerings. To get you amped, too, we’re sharing the full feature preview list from Apple here.

But, let’s zoom in on some of the new features we’re super pumped about:

  • Apple Intelligence: This is huge. Apple is preparing to integrate multiple productivity-driving AI features into their Silicon devices on Sequoia such as a writing assistant, image generation, and a new-and-improved Siri. Best of all, everything is stamped by Apple’s security promise to protect your data and privacy with private cloud compute.

  • Passwords App: Finally, a unified passwords application from Apple that works across mac iPhone, iPad, AND Windows! This is a huge step forward for both small businesses strapped for budget and families trying to protect their accounts with strong (but hard to remember!) passwords.

  • Easy Window Tiling: We’re really excited about this one, after searching for, and trying, nearly all of the open-source alternatives to attempt to make window tiling and arrangement in Mac work like it does with Windows. We can’t wait to uninstall the apps (and supply chain risk!) in exchange for an Apple-built solution.

Most Anticipated Features of Sequoia

Along with the features listed above, there’s a lot of great innovation being delivered with this update. Dig into the feature previews to read up on:

  • More iPhone to Mac continuity enhancements

  • Safari shortcuts and Reader enhancements

  • Notes audio transcription and reliability improvements

  • Trail hiking routes in Maps
