If this release follows suit to previous major OS releases from Apple, it should become available around 10 am Pacific Time today, Oct 24, 2022.
Why are Ventura’s features so exciting?
We’re particularly thrilled about Ventura’s new feature offerings. To get you amped, too, we’re sharing the full feature preview list from Apple here.
But, let’s zoom in on some of the new features we’re super pumped about:
Rapid Security Response
This is huge. macOS will finally get security improvements between regular software updates. That way, Apple can quickly fix zero days or other security issues and apply them to devices without getting bogged down by the typical update process.
Passkey Support
Apple touts a new sign‑in method that is end-to-end encrypted and safe from phishing and data leaks. Amazing, right? They claim it will be stronger than all common two-factor authentication types. We sure hope so!
Stage Manager
This feature aims to increase productivity by organizing apps and windows into a single view – complete with simple switching between windows and apps.
Continuity Camera
Are you tired of terrible angles when video-chatting with your laptop? Now, your iPhone can double as a webcam when you’re meeting on your macOS. Radical indeed.
